A teacher through and through, using all the tools available to me
TEACHING THROUGH CLASSROOMS
Rumour has it that I’ve been teaching since I was 8. My career has included teaching English, corporate training , facilitating group training sessions across Canada and Instructional Design.
TEACHING THROUGH VIDEO
I use storytelling, mini-movies and other interactive elements to engage language learning students in conversation practice at fluencyfix.com.
TEACHING THROUGH AUDIO
I use podcasts to equip language learners on the go, empower the Black community, and also to provide
fuel to a variety of groups for their journey.
TEACHING THROUGH TECH
I am interested in all things tech and A.I, especially how speech synthesis can be applied to language learning. When we bring tech tools into learning, the possibilities are endless!
TEACHING THROUGH DESIGN
I combine a little bit of creativity, and an understanding of the simplest, most impactiful way to present big concepts. This comes in handy when doing corporate training, software simulations and other business training as an Instructional Designer.
BIO
Founder @ Virtual Language Practice (Now Nejo Studios) and www.fluencyfix.com
An early interest in foreign languages lead to majoring in French literature at Queen’s University. In addition to teaching ESL in both Canada and Japan I have also authored language learning texts which include 100 Jamaican Patois Sentences, 英文くみたてのテクニック/The English sentence scramble technique, and the Repekanji 1 Graded Kanji reader. Over the years I have also picked up conversational Spanish, German and Japanese. Since learning a foreign language without speaking practice is impossible, my current work at Fluency Fix centers on helping language learning to get as much conversation practice as they need on a daily basis. https://www.fluencyfix.com/

Legends of the Fall. I’ve seen it 19 Times. Right now, I feel like I need to make an immediate statement here that it’s not because I have the hots for Brad Pitt. I just want to make an official statement that the hot brother in that film is Aidan Quinn.
